Wiley J. Coulter's Obituary
It is with a heavy heart I inform family and friends of the passing of Wiley J. Coulter (WJ) on Thursday, October 9, 2025, succumbing to the effects of a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend.
WJ was born in Florida to Wiley J. and Lilia Coulter on July 31, 1953. He is preceeded in death by both parents, sister Carmen, and his beloved hunting dog Owen.
WJ was a proud Florida Gator and held a Master's degree in Hospital Administration from Troy State. He worked as a hospital laboratory manager/director in several hospitals in Florida, Georgia and Oregon. His passion was hunting, fishing and gardening. Some would joke his collection of hunting and fishing gear would rival Bass Pro Shop.
Married to Marcia for 34 years, they enjoyed traveling all over the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.
He is survived by Marcia, son Joe (Amy), sister Evelyn, stepson Wesley Fannin (Jessica), grandchildren, Devan Coulter (Liz), Emily Schmidt (Jason), Claire Fannin, Evan, and great grandchild, Maverick.
There will be no service. Donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee, The Alzheimer's Association, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, or charity of your choice.
