Russell Ray Brooks' Obituary
Russell "Russ" Ray Brooks, 78, of Quincy, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023 at his home.
Russ was born in Logan County, Kentucky to Rupert and Maggie Brooks in 1945. He worked for the Division of Blind Services in Kentucky and Florida until he retired.
Russ is survived by his wife of 29 years, Helen M. Brooks; his children, Aimee Brooks of Tallahassee, Liana Ryan of Tallahassee, and Debbie Howard of Russellville, KY; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Ray Brooks.
Russ was very proud of his family and loved them dearly. He never had a problem saying "I love you" or giving hugs.
Russ enjoyed doing projects with his son, Michael when he was able. He enjoyed fishing, square dancing and restoring old cars and trucks. He liked Chevy trucks, Plymouths, Pontiacs and many more. He enjoyed competing in car and truck shows and won 1st and 2nd place on many occasions. He would also occasionally sell one of his cars or trucks at the car show.
We all loved Russ very much and will miss him greatly. He will be in our soul, thoughts and hearts forever.
