Rowe Ellen Rogero's Obituary
Rowe Ellen Eikenberry Rogero passed away in her home over the July 4th weekend.
Rowe was born September 24, 1941, in Santa Rosa, California, but largely grew up in Miami, Florida. She is predeceased by her parents, Rogers and Emily Eikenberry, and her son Michael Hinton. She is survived by her husband Herb Rogero, brother Charles Eikenberry (Bev) and sister Judy Hatfield (Rob), daughter Catherine Schnars (Mark) and son Cayce Hinton (Tina), as well as stepson and daughter, Jeff Rogero (Carla) and Jennifer Longman (Ron). Rowe also leaves behind seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter, along with two nieces and a nephew.
Rowe retired from her career with the state of Florida in 2004. She filled her retirement days
traveling around Europe with Herb, singing in the church choir, participating in several book
clubs, and spending time with her many dear friends. She also traveled a couple times to Cuba
with her church and adored the new friends she made there. The most important thing to Rowe
was family, however, and she felt very blessed to have all three of her kids living around her in
Tallahassee over the past decade. Christmas was always a particularly special time decorating
her tree and baking cookies with her three local grandkids. Rowe also loved a recent tradition of
reuniting each summer with her brother and sister, and their families, at her niece’s house on
Lake Oconee, Georgia.
Rowe was a great wife, mom, grandmom, sister and aunt. She was also a great friend to many.
She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service is planned for 10 am on Friday, July 19, at Trinity United Methodist Church,
120 West Park Avenue, Tallahassee, Florida. A reception will follow. All are welcome.
