Robert Shawn Stewart's Obituary
Robert Shawn Stewart, 62, of Tallahassee, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Shawn was born in Atmore, Alabama, and was the son of the late Hugh and Leonette Stewart. He moved to Florida upon graduating from Marshall University with a BBA in Accounting, where he was a proud member of the Cheerleading Squad and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Shawn later became a CPA.
Shawn loved every animal he ever came in contact with. He was known for feeding the ducks outside his office daily as well as the stray cats near his gym, where he worked out faithfully every single day.
Shawn’s most prized possession was his red 1985 Jeep CJ-7 which he drove for well over 30 years and 800,000 miles.
Known for being the gentlest of giants, he is lovingly remembered for always being willing to help anyone who may have needed it. From walking his co-workers to their cars, to helping move all the heavy items, as his final act of selflessness Shawn was able to grant the gift of life through organ donation.
Shawn is survived by his daughter, Jordan (Eric) Boling and twin granddaughters, Chandler and Parker Boling; his girlfriend of 25 years, Lisa Conner; his sister, Lisa Stewart and partner Beth English; two brothers, Scott (Tami) Stewart and Jimmy (Stacey) Stewart; and three nephews, Shea (Claudia) Stewart, Drew (Laura) Stewart and Matt Stewart.
A memorial mass will be held in his honor on Friday, February 9th at 11 AM at The Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Tallahassee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leon County Humane Society. A bench will be placed in memorial at Cherokee Park in Thomasville to help encourage folks to feed Shawn's ducks.
