Who but Raph would travel with you to Costa Rica at the drop of a dime? Adventure, full-throttle living, and a kind, compassionate heart are some of the words I think of when I remember my dear friend, the cat whisperer. Raph, I miss you and will always remember the good times we shared. You impacted countless lives with your contagious spirit.
I went to TCNJ with Raph and we were on the debate team together. His positivity and energy were infectious and always helped to brighten my day. He also had excellent taste in music and I fondly remember dancing to angerfist in the dorm room together.
...one of the fiercest kickball competitors I ever went up against and played with. Raph was always so positive and ready for adventure - this dude loved to experience everything. His passion for music, especially the wildest subgenres within EDM, was inspiring. Rest easy, friend

Such sad & tragic news. Though Jean Bernard & I did not know Raphael and his family for too long a time, we connected so well already, and every time we saw Raphael at one of the Swiss Club gatherings, we were under the charme of his kind and goofy nature, his bright and warm smile and his everso touching and sunny personality.
Life is truly unpredictable and, sometimes, so very cruel. We can just barely fathom how absolutely devastated his parents and brother must be.
We embrace the entire family Siegrist in sincere compassion - in thoughts and prayers.

I consider Raph to be my best friend and truly my brother. No matter what it was, he was always up for fun. I'll never forget our trips to the 2014 National Championship Game, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, and also the Total Solar Eclipse only a few weeks before his untimely passing. It is so heartening to read the varied and diverse memories posted here, as he always told me about all the folks he hung out with and the crazy highjinx he got up to. Most people have fewer and fewer friends as they age, but not Raph. He accumulated friends like a chipmunk accumulates acorns.
He was the best person I ever met, he made my life and more importantly the world a better place. The hole his absence leaves behind will never truly be filled. I miss you brother.

Raphael was a giant, gentle, geeky guy who loved laughter. This guy was always smiling as he discussed what he was doing at FSU. Even though he knew we didn't know what he was talking about. Our common bond: happiness and laughter and a belief that humor is a great forum to present his social critiques. And we at Faust appreciated his wit and left-field humor.
May you rest in power, Raphael. We will meet to laugh again!
Raphael was a long time Faustkateer and proud member of the Mickee Faust Club Theater at Railroad Square for which he wrote and performed.
We at Faust are reeling from the news that Raphael has unexpectedly died.
We adored him. Everyone in Faust loved seeing him, working with him, playing with him.
At writers' meetings we could always depend on Raphael to come up with something outrageous, hilarious or thought provoking.
We loved doing the pieces he wrote and loved it when he had time to be in a show himself.
He came to every Faust cabaret that didn't conflict with an FSU football game and always stuck around after the shows to visit and chat and listen to music and just be with us.
He delighted all who knew him.
He was a beloved Faustkateer and I personally am heartbroken to lose him.
This photo was taken at a recent North Florida Swiss Club 1st of August celebration. Rafael was an active member of our club and participated in most of the events. He will be dearly missed.
Rafael was an amazing human being. Always with a smile giving out stats or facts about FSU and reminding all of us in the U.S. Courthouse of his yearly countdown of 100 days when college football would officially start. From all of your Court Security Officers Rafael, God Bless and God Speed, you will be missed.
Our neighborhood was a kinder, warmer and gentler place with Raphael as part of it.
He was always available to help with gatherings and fun. His joy was palpable, his smile warmhearted.
The evening before he died he and I shared the wonder of a beautiful sunset.
All of his friends and neighbors will miss him.
