John Raymond Gerry's Obituary
John Raymond Gerry, 58, of Tallahassee, Florida, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his family on November 2, 2020.
John is survived by his son Joseph Gerry, daughter Markie Gerry and her two children Cambree and Hunter, sister JoAnn Westaway, ex-wife Paula Sittig Gerry, as well as countless friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, mentor, and friend to many.
John loved hunting, especially with friends and his son in various places including Lake Seminole. He enjoyed football and baseball and he was a member of The Animals of Section B: Florida State University’s Baseball Fan Group. John owned and operated Gerry Construction for many years and later was an instructor at the Gadsden Re-Entry Center. He enjoyed dancing and live music with friends at the Bradfordville Blues Club. John loved watching sunsets over Lake Jackson, fishing, playing with his dogs in his backyard and anything outdoors.
A remembrance service and reception will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 12 pm. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (4665 Thomasville Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32309) with a Live Stream available at: https://www.goodshepherdparish.org/livestream.
