I knew John at Lincoln High School, he was always kind, easy going had a great sense of humor! I’ll share a memory: When we were in high school, I told him that our Labrador had a litter of puppies and we were trying to find homes for them. He immediately said he wanted one for duck hunting! He came to the house and picked out a black one...Several months later I saw John at a convenience store getting out of his truck. As he stepped out, a black wooly-bugger kind of creature jumped out of the cab of the truck! I exclaimed John! What is that thing?!! He said in a humerous-sarcastic voice, “that’s my dog Blue! The “Lab” you gave me!”....I shrunk a little and giggled...oh, I didn’t mention the daddy dog was a poodle??!!!....and that how John was actually one of the first owners of a future pedigree: “Labradoodles!” I told John that he should come by and meet Blue’s brothers: Wolfie, Bugger, Egad and Thing! He laughed and said Blue was really a great dog!
It was so great to see him several years ago at a high school reunion... we laughed really hard at that great memory! RIP John! Say hi to Blue!
