Joan Moehle's Obituary
Joan Bromnick Moehle, 80, of Monticello, FL, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025.
Joan was born in Buffalo, NY, on September 27, 1944, to Walter and Irene Bromnick. After Joan graduated from Kenmore High School in 1962, she immediately became employed in a civilian support capacity with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). While working for the FBI, Joan met her future husband, Walter W. “Walt” Moehle, to whom she was wed on June 8, 1973. Joan and Walt went on to have two children, Walter C. “Chris” and Kate.
Joan lived in numerous places with her family, including Detroit, MI; Okawville, IL; Coral Springs, FL; Odessa, FL; Sunrise Beach, MO; and the Tallahassee, FL, area. Joan, who worked many interesting jobs while simultaneously raising her children, ultimately retired from the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, in 2002. Following retirement, Joan and Walt split their time between North Florida, the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, and traveling the world with their closest friends. Spending quality time with her husband, children, and grandchildren was her highest priority, followed closely by enjoying boating and convertible trips touring the country with Walt.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Irene Bromnick, and her older brother, Donald Bromnick, all of the Buffalo, NY, area. She is survived by her husband, Walt Moehle of Monticello, FL; son Chris Moehle (Sharon) of Camdenton, MO; daughter Kate Moehle Richards (Travis) of Monticello, FL; and three treasured grandchildren: Jeslyn, Mason, and Grady.
While Joan was a member of the First Methodist Church of Monticello, FL, services are not planned, per her request. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Methodist Church of Monticello, FL, at 325 Walnut Street, Monticello, FL, 32344, and/or the Walter A. and Minna E. (Miche) Moehle Scholarship Fund at CommunityFoundationCI.org
