Jan Goodyear
I taught with Jean at Carmel Jr. High and at Clay Jr. High. Not only was Jean an incredible teacher, but an incredible person as well. She inspired me, as I began my 33 year teaching career, with her passion for her subject, the respect she engendered among students and her colleagues as well, and drive to be the best she could be. As a person, she was warm and cheerful and had a wonderful sense of humor. I will always cherish the memories of the times we conversed together.
I see that she continued her passion for teaching into her retirement years, simply turning her focus to the Lord and His children. It will be impossible to calculate how many lives she touched with that sweet spirit, both inside and outside of the church setting.
To her family, I extend my deepest sympathy and prayers for you in your season of grieving. How blessed we all were to count her as part of our lives.
