Janet B. Milam's Obituary
Janet Brinson Milam, 74, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away peacefully at her home on November 11th, 2022.
Originally from Clearwater, FL, Janet was a woman of great strength, character, and maintained her belief in God throughout her life. She loved her family fiercely, and her love extended well beyond her blood relatives to a wide array of people to whom she is like a second mother, or grandmother. Known to many as Mrs. Janet or simply, Nan, she leaves behind a legacy of true grit, earnest love, integrity and honesty, a garden full of plants, and a great appreciation for Rock N Roll music.
Janet was preceded in death by Emory James Brinson (father), Evelyn Curl Brinson (mother), Little Dougie Brinson, Richard Brinson, and Dan Brinson (brother's).
She is survived by her sons, 'Joe' Daniel Stoddard (April, wife) and J.C. Milam (Erin, wife), her granddaughters Nikki Stoddard (Faith, wife) Ashlee' Barton (Jeremiah, husband) Brittani Crum (Nick, Husband) and grandson Derek Smart (Erin, wife), her great granddaughter, Gracie Mae, and cousins Diana, Faye, Michelle, and countless others that will carry her stories and life lessons from this day forth.
A celebration of her life will occur on Saturday, November 19th at The Dogwood House 2552 Capital Cir NE, Tallahassee, FL 32308, from 12:00-6:00 PM, with a memorial service at 1:00 PM, and reception to follow. The family invites all who knew Janet to attend, commune with one another, and share her stories. Food and drinks will be provided. In lieu of flowers, Janet would have preferred everyone to plant something in her memory.
