Ian Louis Blake 's Obituary
Tragically, Ian Blake passed away on October 23, 2017, after battling an extremely aggressive form of cancer. Ian was 34. He fought a brave and strong battle for almost a year. He never complained and always remained positive. Ian was a kind, loving, and gentle warrior.
He graduated from David Posnack Jewish Day School and went on to receive his B.S. in psychology from Florida Atlantic University. He was proud to be a Master Mason and belonged to the North Broward Masonic Lodge of Florida. Ian moved to Tallahassee in 2011 where he met his wife Melissa and adopted their daughter, Haleigh. He is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Felipe “Zicro” Neto. He was an amazing husband, gentle father, grateful son, and loyal friend.
He is survived by his wife Melissa, daughter Haleigh, mother Natalie, father Richard, brother Chase, grandmother Audrey, Uncle Marlowe, Aunt Marian, and cousin Laura. His beautiful smile and big heart will be missed forever.
A memorial service held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 4pm at the Zicro Academy, 615 Universal Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32303. A second memorial will be held in Boca Raton on Saturday, November 11, 2017.
Ian’s father and brother will be sitting shiva at his father’s house Monday, October 30th – Wednesday, November 1st from 4pm – 8pm. His wife, daughter, and mother will remain in Tallahassee until the second memorial service in Boca Raton on November 11th.
