Tragically, Ian Blake passed away on October 23, 2017, after battling an extremely aggressive form of cancer. Ian was 34. He fought a brave and strong battle for almost a year. He never complained and always remained positive. Ian Read Obituary

I was with Nora Teitzman tonight and we were speaking of the beautiful Blake family. Nora told me of a memory she had of Ian. In class they read and listened to La Juive. La Juive, is an opera about a Jewish man who saves a baby girl. Nora told me that of all the students in the class, it was Ian who loved that opera and would ask her to play the arias again and again. She said: his face would light up and he was radiant with joy. "That's how I will always see him. That smile, and the radiance. He was a very special young man."
There are so many things that can be said. Pictures are worth more than 1000 words and Ian really lit up the room, faces, and many lives. I will never be able to go back in time to certain situations, but we spent a lot of time together. A brother that I never had. There wasn't a single time that Ian didn't have my back. Our ideologies, morals, and values brought us together and we just understood each other. For the rest of my life, every day, you will motivate me and I will always think of you. I only know good times with you by my side, as there were not many bad. To a true friend, a brother, and an overall amazing human being - I will miss you everyday, not a little but alot. I hope that you will look down on your family and friends and feel proud, proud that your influence in our lives leaves an everlasting brightness and an unconditional love between us bound by you. Thank you for being you. I love you brother, now, always, and forever.
My amazing son passed away this afternoon after a heroic battle with cancer. He fought until his last breath. I am grateful that G-d picked me to be his mother. He was and always will be a miracle in my life. He touched and enriched so many people and changed our lives for the better. He beat many odds to live a life that he loved with his wife and daughter. He always did things his way. He was the most courageous and strongest person I know. I will miss him so much. Remember Ian, “I’ll love you forever and like you for always. As long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.” So grateful to have had him for 34 years to bless my life. Rest In Peace my sweetheart❤️
