Beatrice Pippy
My beloved sister Deanna, so named after our mother's dear sister Florence, and a popular movie star of that time, Deanna Durban, was two when I was born. We walked to school together every day, she with her bright auburn hair in braids, always tied in pretty ribbons. We grew up together along with our siblings, and shared life's journey even though she had married and moved with her husband Buddy Barber to Tallahassee, Florida. The family connection was strongly maintained and all of us remained close. Through all of life's challenges we shared each other's joys and sorrows. She was a remarkable woman in every way, loving, kind, true, and strong. She had a faith that was able to carry her through even the most heartbreaking losses that we can experience, that of the illness and Death of her daughter Debbie. Mercifully, she was spared the knowledge of the passing of her other daughter Cindy. Now she has entered her true home, enjoying the presence of her Lord, and is reunited with those who rejoice to see their beloved Deanna. Deanna, my sister, my friend, until we meet again, always remembered and loved.
