Xavier Guevara Arroyo's Obituary
Xavier Alexander Guevara Arroyo, lovingly known as “Xavi,” passed away on March 21, 2026, at the age of 22.
Xavi was born on October 13, 2003, in Puerto Rico. He was the second child of Nestor and Frances, and a loving, energetic brother to his sisters, Cristina, the eldest, and Paola, who was close to him in age and often considered “his twin.” The siblings were close, supportive, playful, and deeply loving toward one another.
Xavi grew up in a large, close-knit family where “Bendición” was the first word spoken to receive God’s blessing, followed by hugs and kisses from everyone. Food, music, and family gatherings were a weekly tradition—especially Sundays—bringing everyone together to connect and bond with the elders. Grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins, who lovingly called him “Guingui,” would gather to enjoy family time, music, and the cuisine of Abuelo José and Abuela Ana. His favorite dish was arroz con gandules and pernil. It was here that his love for connection, his passion for bonding with others, and his appreciation for music and the kitchen first took root.
At the age of 10, Xavi moved to Virginia with his parents and sisters, where he grew up and completed his high school education. After graduation, he moved to Florida to pursue his studies and enjoy warmer weather, eventually settling in Tallahassee. There, he found a second sense of belonging among his bandmates and friends, and he found love with his girlfriend, Tylen.
His extended family of friends cherished his quirkiness, humor, and energy, but most of all, his kindness. Xavi was humble, honest, caring, altruistic, and loving—a person who would always offer a hug and ask how you were, truly meaning it. He had a remarkable gift for bringing people together, connecting individuals from different backgrounds in a way that was both inspiring and refreshing. This was one of his many gifts.
Music was at the heart of Xavi’s life. He was a proud member of the bands Mutual Friends and Curly Q, and through his music, he connected with many. Whether through rhythm or melody, he brought a unique energy and authenticity that resonated deeply. He supported others, inspired them, and showed genuine care.
Though he lived far from his family, his love for them ran deep. He is survived by his loving parents, Nestor and Frances; his sisters, Cristina and Paola; and his cherished nephews, Damian, Dario, and Alessandra, who brought him great joy as “Uncle Xavi.” He is also survived by his devoted grandparents, who had the blessing of watching him grow into a gentle, inspiring young man who openly expressed his emotions and spread love. His vibrant personality shone brightly, leaving behind countless memories filled with laughter, music, and meaningful connection.
Xavi will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his artistic soul, and the rhythm he carried within him. His life, though brief, was filled with passion and meaning. He will be deeply missed, and his music and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation with Xavier's family will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11 am at Christ Presbyterian Church, 2317 Bannerman Road, Tallahassee, Florida, followed by a celebration of life service at 12 noon. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
