William L. “Bill” Parramore of Quincy, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on June 27th , 2024 at the age of 84, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Quincy, Florida on May 1, 1940 and was the oldest son of Eudell and Juanita Parramore of Quincy, Florida.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 43 years Clemey Parramore; son, Bill Parramore Jr. (Norma) of Crawfordville, FL; daughter, Susan King of Quincy, FL; son, Shannon Darby (Lisa) of Quincy, FL; four grandchildren – Kendall Rabon (Johnathan), Josh Darby (Gretchen), Travis Parramore (Jadzia), and Ashley Harvey (Garrett); one great granddaughter, Aspin Harvey and one brother, Richard Parramore (Judy); mother of his children, Martha Parramore; special friends, Buddy and Janet Cox; special full-time caregiver, Linda Gilyard and part-time caregivers, Marquiesha Mitchell, Caleb Close, and Maggie Horton; many nieces, nephews and other special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eudell and Juanita Parramore, son-in-law Curtis King, and brothers/sisters-in-law, Doug and Abbie Anne Dudley, Wayne Dudley, and LB and Deannie Traylor.
Bill graduated from Quincy High School in 1958 and attended college in North Carolina. After college, he worked as a salesman for Frosty Morn and retired from Lykes Brothers, Inc. in 1991. Sales was what he did best and after a short time in retirement, he decided to change directions and sell vehicles for Bill Wells Chevrolet in Quincy, FL where he will be remembered by many in the community.
Bill’s life was centered on his family, friends and the farm. Bill loved to spend most of his time on his cattle farm and continued that passion to the end. If you ever wanted to find him, just look for his green mule and his riding buddy, his dog Tucker. He didn’t need much and found no other place he’d rather be than on Parramore Hill driving a tractor or sitting on the porch. His slogan phrase when asked about his day was, “just another day in paradise,” and to him the farm was just that, his paradise.
A visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 30th, 2024 with a service to follow at 3:00 PM at Lifesong Chapel, 20 S. Duval St., Quincy, FL 32351. A graveside service will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, 284 McCall Bridge Rd., Quincy, Florida.
