William "Bill" Hightower III's Obituary
William Newell "Bill" Hightower, III, 77, of Tallahassee, passed away May 15, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Anne F. Hightower.
Bill was born in Shreveport, LA and moved to Tallahassee from Marianna in 1960. He graduated from Leon High School in 1965 and Florida State University, College of Business in 1970. He was a man of Faith and Integrity who loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. He enjoyed the simple things in life - reading, camellia gardening, bird watching, hunting, fishing, competitive shooting, and spending time with loved ones. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee and a life member of the FSU Alumni Association.
Other survivors include his beloved son John Hightower (wife Sandi) of Tallahassee, grandsons Zack (wife Virginia), Quinn and Luke Ward, all of Tallahassee, sister Martha Hightower Clements of Tallahassee, brother Edwin L. Hightower (wife Debbie) of Tallahassee, sister Lou Hightower (husband Bob Dick) of Atlanta, GA, brother-in-law Jim Foster of Tallahassee, cherished cousins, and his beloved pets, Cooper and Oliver.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Newell Hightower, Jr. and Mary M. Hightower.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 2nd at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 4665 Thomasville Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32309. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church (address above), The American Camellia Society, 100 Massee Lane Road, Fort Valley, GA 31030, FSU University Foundation, 325 West College Ave., Tallahassee, FL 32301 or Ducks Unlimited, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120-2351.
