Vincent Joseph Democh Jr.'s Obituary
Vincent J. Democh, Jr. 66 of Steinhatchee, FL. passed away Monday, October 31,
2022 after a long illness.
Born in Connecticut, raised in Lyme, Vinny was quite the unicorn of individuals-
always the adventurer, a passionate fisherman, hunter, trapper and lobsterman-
truly a man who loved to live the simple life off the land although not so much a
lover of Rules.
He had been a gifted Carpenter, always a brain-picker and a loyal friend to many.
He had attended Johnson and Wales Culinary in Providence, RI. and could make a
5 star meal out of a squirrel or a venison hind quarter! And while he was a hunter,
he was also a great respecter of wildlife and had rehabbed many, many, injured
owls, and hawks in his aviary after his move to Florida. He spent several years in
the Florida Keys before moving up to the Steinhatchee and Mayo area.
He was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Alice Democh, Sr., son
Christopher, and beloved wife Linda.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his sisters Reggie, Valarie and
Rhonda; nieces Elyse and Callie; nephews Colin, Trevor, Jordan and Kevin; a great
niece, four great nephews, and many friends he made over the years.
There will be no formal services however if you are so moved perhaps a donations
in his name may be made to Friends of Bahia Honda (State Park)
