Victoria Ann Slawter Mathews' Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Victoria Ann Slawter Mathews, a devoted Swifty, mother, cherished sister, and loyal friend, who left this world on May 16, 2025, after a courageous eight-month battle with cancer. She was 47 years old.
Vikki was the proud and dedicated mother of twin sons, Jackson Grant Mathews and Thomas Arthur Mathews—her greatest joys and proudest legacy. She raised Jack and Tom with warmth, resilience, and humor, instilling in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and unity.
Born on March 15, 1978, to Richard E. Slawter and Dolores Slonaker Slawter (both predeceased), Vikki grew up surrounded by family and love. She carried that spirit into motherhood and into every relationship she nurtured.
Vikki graduated from the University of Florida with a Master’s degree in Accounting in 2001. She began working at the Florida Auditor General in 2002, where she performed information technology security audits with diligence and professionalism until her death.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Jack and Tom; her loving sister, Jennifer Slawter; and her dearest friends, Brenda and Tom Shiner, Erin Casey, and Patty Oole, who stood by her side through every chapter of life. She will also be deeply missed by her coworkers, neighbors, and many friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and grace.
Vikki’s home was a haven of love—filled with warmth and care. Though her time here was far too short, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her deeply in return.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice in Vikki’s memory.
Rest peacefully, Vikki. Your love lives on.
