I met Vera at ArtSpace in Cleveland’s Little Italy and followed her to the JCC and Beck Center. I was thinking about her tonight and in my search found this very sad news. Vera was beautiful, pure, encouraging, and inspiring. Her classes were well presented and prepared and I always left feeling uplifted. Vera was a beautiful dancer, musician, and teacher. I was saddened to see Vera's name listed in the memorial section of our college alumni magazine.
I met Vera on a canoe outing when she was a freshman at the Cleveland School of Music, studying harp. She invited me to see her perform in a dance program. After she transferred to Western Reserve, we happened to take the same history course and shared notes. Then, graduating ahead of her, I lost touch. While living in San Francisco, many years later, I learned that she was to dance in the Mission District, but I wasn't able to attend and unfortunately missed an opportunity to see her again.
I remember Vera's grace and charm, laugh and cheerfulness, her full embrace of life.

I just learned of Vera's passing by happenstance. She touched my life meaningfully when I was a young dancer in Paris in the early 1990s. She probably never knew how much her kind and insightful ways nudged the direction of my life, and I never forgot her. I am so saddened that her life ended with so much suffering and shock for those close to her. She was a radiant person and teacher.

I'm so sorry to learn of this so sad event!
Vera was the only teacher I trusted in BMC. It was a fantastic encounter even if I made 2 workshops with her.
I remember she loved her cat as I loved mine and I remember her pendant with Opal Australia.
A lots of things seemed to be so easy with her. I always will be marked by her.

My condolences to Vera's family. I experienced a series of rolfings with her about 10years ago. She was compassionate, insightful, and skilled, a very sweet and giving soul.

Vera lived down the street from my late mother, Nancy DeGrove and became,
along with Jack, a dear and cherished friend of our family. I admired her courage
and good spirits in the challenges of illness
My last memory of Vera, appropriately, is of her playing Handel on her harp,
while a hummingbird darted among the flowers out the window.

It was Vera who introduced me to Body-Mind Centering; I will always remember the training with Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen we attended together in New York. We went to a performance of Finian's Rainbow and had a lovely dinner. We shared many interests. The last several weeks she has come to mind and maybe I was picking up some energy. She was a gifted therapist and I will miss her intelligence, aesthetic sense, generosity and friendliness. My sincere condolences to those closest to her.
