Terese (Terri) Marie Fox's Obituary
Terese (Terri) Marie Fox, 91, mother, grandmother, greatmother (as the great grands called her), and loving friend, passed away on April 4, 2023.
She was born in Boston, Massachusetts and settled in Tallahassee in 1959. She lived independently until her last days and had a full and beautiful life. She was married to the late Dr. John David Fox (Florida State University, Nuclear Physics) for 19 years and raised five children.
Terri is survived by her children, Heidi, Lise (Brian Schatz), Peter, Paul (Sandy Fox), and Michelle (Jon Lundy); 10 grandchildren, Ashley Arrington (Tommy), Erin Ryals (Chris), Patrick Brady, Heather Morrison, Alex Fox (Irene), Ben Lundy, Bryce Fox, Laurel Fox, Katelyn Lundy, and Griffin Fox; and seven great-grandchildren, Tanner Arrington, Camille Ryals, Avery Arrington, Evelyn Ryals, Oliver Morrison, Dominic King, and Axel Fox.
After raising her children and volunteering at their schools and the Lemoyne Art Foundation, Terri returned to school for a degree in Humanities from Florida State University, where she was inducted
into Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She enjoyed a 20-year career in museum education, retiring
from the Museum of Florida History as Museum Program Supervisor at the age of 70. She was a committed patron of the arts and enjoyed theater, opera, art, music, travel, beautiful food, red wine, spicy conversation, good books, being outside, cats, and dogs. She unconditionally loved her family and friends, had a keen intellect, was funny and irreverent, and was fearless in a crisis. Terri’s physical presence with us will be greatly missed, but her beautiful spirit will continue.
A celebration of her life will be held May 20, 2023 at 2:00PM at Untied Church of Tallahassee 1834
Mahan Drive Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
