Sylvia Stone Darby's Obituary
Sylvia Stone Darby, 62, of Greensboro, passed away on October 3rd, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jimmy Darby.
Sylvia spent her entire life in Gadsden County where she was very active in the community. She was past president of the Order of the Confederate Rose chapter in Sawdust and member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in the Pine Grove community. She loved attending church where she was in charge of the prayer list and monthly bulletin. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and fishing.
Other survivors include one daughter, Brandy Friedrich of Quincy; her mother and stepfather, Shirley and Jimmie Jones; one sister, Donna Howell (Allen) of Greensboro; two brothers, Bruce Childress, Jr. (Alyssa) of Alabama and Cameron Childers (Jeanie) of Sneads; and two grandchildren, Kyrstin and Jacob Hand.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Danny Ray Stone in 1991 and her father, Bruce Childers, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 6th at Bethel Assembly of God. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial will be at the Bethel Assembly of God Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Church. Lifesong (lifesongfunerals.com or 850/627-1111) is assisting the family with arrangements.
