Stewart Dalzell , III's Obituary
Stewart Dalzell, III, of Tallahassee, passed away on Sunday, March 27th, 2016 at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Millie Dalzell.
Stewart was a native of Boston, MA and moved from Humarock, MA to Florida in 1987. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy and WWII Veteran. Stewart retired from Stanley Tools as a Manufacturing Engineer. He was lifelong member of Kensington Congregational Church in Kensington, Connecticut.
Stewart was an amazing man who accomplished so many things during his 95 years. His heart and soul were always drawn to the sea. He shared his love of the water and boating with all who knew him. He spent many hours teaching his children and grandchildren how to swim and float on their backs like an old man. “He taught us to sail even though some of us could never find the wind.”
Other survivors include three daughters, Pam McKenzie (Gregg) of Tallahassee; Nancy Congo (Dale) of Red Bank, NJ; and Priscilla Preston (Tommy) of Tallahassee; one son, Stewart Dalzell, IV (Leigh) of Monticello; his brother-in-law, Jack Foreman (Jerrye); eleven grandchildren, Jeffrey McKenzie; Brittany Powers; Kyle McKenzie; Aaron Congo; Ana Congo; Kaitlin Congo; Jessica Dalzell; Stewart Dalzell, V; Jamison Dalzell; Mackenzie Preston; and Jett Preston; four great-grandchildren; and many family members and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Susan Dalzell.
