Deepest condolences to Sandy and Angela. I met Sandy a few years ago and even worked for her briefly. My pet therapy partner, Neko, knew and loved Sandy and Shirley. Once, Neko and I went to spend time at the Elder Day Care Center and Shirley was a client there. Neko (Golden Retriever) and Shirley gravitated immediately to each other with Shirley bending over to hug Neko and put kisses on top of her head. It was a poignant moment and a beautiful sight to see.
I knew Shirley mostly through the respect and admiration Sandy has for her. She will be missed but her strength, resourcefulness, and loving spirit live on in Sandy. Rest in peace, dear Shirley, your work is done and your legacy is admirable.
