Robert Carlton Pruyn Jr.'s Obituary
Robert lived life to the fullest, surrounded by family and friends.
Bob was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on September 3, 1949, to Charlotte McFadden Pruyn and Robert C. Pruyn Sr. The youngest of three children, he joined sisters JoAnne and Barbara to complete the family.
When Bob was eight, his family moved to Lighthouse Point, Florida, where Bob attended school and later graduated from Pompano Beach High School in 1967. Bob then attended Florida State University, where he joined Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity, graduating in 1971 with a bachelor's degree.
Bob loved Florida State and Tallahassee, and resided there the remainder of his life. Bob worked as a systems analyst and trainer for the State of Florida until his retirement.
Bob met the love of his life, Carleen Allen, at Unity Eastside Church. Bob and Carleen married in 2005 and then began to welcome rescue dogs into their family. Throughout their marriage, they continued to shelter rescue dogs.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara and his beloved wife of 23 years, Carleen Allen Pruyn.
Bob is survived by his sister JoAnne Boggus (Zell); his brother-in-law Carl Allen (Marcia); and four nephews, Kiet Boggus, Michael Pruyn Boggus, Seth Allen (Miranda), and Sean Allen (Shannon.)
A private graveside service will be held.
Bob's faith was strong, as was Carleen's faith. As Bob wrote in his journal during his last days, he looked forward to reuniting with his beloved Carleen.
