Robert Boyd Bibbee Sr.'s Obituary
Robert (Bob) Boyd Bibbee, Sr. passed away on September 20, 2025.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 4, 1959, to Lucille and Harry Bibbee, Bob joined his older brother, Ed, and sister, Beverly. From an early age, he loved baseball and the Detroit Tigers, memorizing stats from the morning paper and rushing home from school to watch the 1968 World Series.
He played second base and shortstop for Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida, and later attended Florida State University, where he joined Kappa Sigma fraternity and became a lifelong Seminole fan. It was there he met and married Julie, the mother of his two children, Brooke and Bob Jr.
Bob built a successful career in sales, thriving in the building industry and earning recognition as a top performer. After moving to Southwest Florida in the late ’90s, he continued to grow professionally and became a respected member of the industry.
Above all, Bob was a devoted father. His two wonderful children were the center of his world. Even when work took him away from Tallahassee, he called them nightly and made sure they had the best summers and breaks possible. Bob never said no to his kids and stayed a kid at heart himself. He created memories that Brooke and Bob will forever cherish.
He became “Papa” in 2018 with the birth of his first grandchild, Vivian Grace, sharing a special bond built on chocolate chip cookies, Waffle House breakfasts, and Circle K treasures. He later welcomed four more grandchildren (Gunner, Grayson, Blakely, and Raegan), and his memory will live on through their laughter and the many “Bibbee” stories they’ll tell.
Bob is survived by his children, Brooke (Javier) and Bob (Haley); grandchildren Vivian Grace, Grayson, Gunner, Blakely, and Raegan; brother Ed; sister Beverly; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Lucille and Harry Bibbee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, honoring Bob’s love for the military and his country.
