Richard Blair Morgan's Obituary
Richard Blair Morgan, 80, passed on July 12, 2022, at Pruitt Southwood Rehab in Tallahassee, FL. A memorial service will be held on August 6, at 3:00 PM, in his church, Deer Lake United Methodist, 8013 Deerlake Road, Tallahassee. His son, Rich Morgan Jr., will provide music and videos high-lighting his dad's many experiences with sailing, his mountain cabin, and all Seminole sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Virginia Morgan; a son, Jonathan, granddaughter Katie and a brother Blair Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Mary Howard Shelfer Morgan, 2 brothers, Frank Morgan III (and wife Beth) of Havana, Bob Morgan (and wife, Debbie) of Quincy, and a son Rich Morgan (and wife Lisa) of Lutz, FL, and 2 grandchildren, Amelia & Adam.
Richard & Mary Howard were married for 57 years. They were founding members of Deer Lake United Methodist Church.
Richard was a keen observer of wildlife and shared his knowledge with his many friends. He fed birds, deer, and all wildlife in his wooded yard. He also had a love of the ocean and sailing. He grew up in Quincy on a creek and had creeks on his NC mountain property. He completed a B.S. degree in Marine Biology from FSU and had a career with the State of Florida in pollution control (environmental field).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Wildlife Federation, Humane Society or Wounded Warriors. Richard had a passion for Wildlife, Rescued Pets, and Veterans.
