Richard Carlton Lennon's Obituary
Richard Carlton Lennon
Richard Lennon made his last wildly inappropriate comment on January 31, 2017 at the age of 69. Born September 18, 1947 with a cigarette in one hand and a Manhattan in the other, Lennon was the middle son of EJ and Mabel Lennon of Worcester, MA. The family moved to Dunedin, FL in the late 1950's.
Lennon played saxophone in the Marching Chiefs, but graduated from USF after FSU advised him to re-evaluate his priorities. He made a career as an accountant, retiring in 2015 to spend more time with his cats.
Richard loved to make people laugh. He also loved music of all kinds, books of all genres, and liquor of all varieties. He found great peace hiking in his beloved Smokey Mountains and spending time with his family, friends, and cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Jack.
Richard is survived by his older brother, Bob, and his two children (with Ann Sutton), Krista Graham (Larry Burse) and Richard Lennon II (Kim Brackett). He also leaves seven grandchildren - Jonathan Lennon, Anastasia Lennon, Kody Koch, Ryan Koch, Brenna Graham, Alicia Brackett, and Christopher Brackett - as well as one great-grandchild, Brian, and one cat, Bash.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 4:00pm at Christ Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee.
In lieu of flowers, please raise your glass in honor of our friend Richard.
