I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ray Geiger, my former supervisor at Best Buy. He was an exceptional individual who made a lasting impression on everyone who had the honor of knowing him. Ray navigated his work life with a quiet resilience and a distinctive charm that drew people in. While his life was cut short in 2024, the impact he made will continue to resonate in our lives.
Ray was more than just a leader during our time at Best Buy; he was a mentor, a beacon of guidance, and a true friend. Many of us remember him as someone who spoke sparingly, but when he did, his words were filled with purpose and motivation that encouraged us to strive for excellence every single day. His easygoing nature fostered a workplace atmosphere where we felt appreciated and inspired, allowing us to pursue our best work without the stress that can often come with a leadership role.
He possessed a remarkable talent for connecting with others, ensuring each person felt recognized and valued. Ray understood the significance of teamwork and nurtured a sense of unity that permeated our workplace. He had faith in me, even during moments of self-doubt, and his steadfast support uplifted us in ways I will always cherish.
Ray's influence reached far beyond Best Buy. He impacted our lives in profound ways, imparting lessons about kindness, integrity, and the value of pursuing one's passions. He demonstrated that true leadership is not about wielding authority but about inspiring and empowering those around you.
Ray Geiger, your absence will be keenly felt, but your spirit will forever remain in my heart and actions. Thank you for everything you have done.
