Phyllis Eileen Schmidt's Obituary
Phyllis Eileen Schmidt died peacefully at her home on November 2, 2022.
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved the Lord,
her family, and her church. She was a member of the Order of the
Daughters of the Holy Cross at St Peter’s Anglican Cathedral in Tallahassee,
Florida. Highly involved in the church community, Phyllis was committed to
the Daughters of the Holy Cross “rule of life”—making disciples and serving
Jesus through prayer, service, study, and evangelism.
Phyllis is survived by her husband John Paul Schmidt, of more than sixty-
four years, son John (Jan) Schmidt, daughter Jill (Tyler) Macmillan, and
granddaughter Lindsay Macmillan (Emory Quinif). Phyllis’s kind and gentle
spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 2:00pm at
St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
memorial contributions be mailed to Grace Mission, 303 W. Brevard Street,
Tallahassee, Florida 32301. Please place “Phyllis Schmidt” in the memo line
of the check in her honor.
