Patricia Zanne Dickman's Obituary
Patricia “Patti” Dickman, 63, passed away on February 11, 2024. Preceded in death by her parents, the late Richard C. Dickman, Sr. and Vivian Dickman, as well as siblings, the late Richard C. Dickman, Jr and Sheila N. Greene. Patti is survived by her brother Timothy Dickman, sister Faith Kinneer, and brother-in-law John Kinneer. As well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews galore who all adore Patti.
Patti was an active member of the congregation of Lafayette Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee, FL. She has always had a serving heart but after her mom passed away she really blossomed into serving in ways she couldn’t before. She served as an acolyte at her church and enjoyed participating in the worship service. Patti had been a member of the Fellowship committee, Worship committee, a 2-term Deacon, the Presbyterian Women (PW, she loved the fellowship of it especially the annual retreat), a member of the Lunch Eating group (Patti always loved going out to eat!), helped with Vacation Bible School every year it was held, and was always willing to give a hand to help out when and where it was needed. In 2023, Patti received the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership Award.
Not only was Patti active in her church, but she was very active in the local community. She volunteered at the Kearney Center (our local shelter) and helped to serve food, assisted at the local library, and helped her sister occasionally at a local no-kill animal sanctuary. She was an active member of the Tallahassee Aktion Club, where she was currently serving as the President. The Aktion Club is a community service organization sponsored by Kiwanis and she loved serving her community. Some of the service projects she had worked on with the Aktion Club are box top collections for Gretchen Everhart school, can tabs for Ronald McDonald House, delivering monetary donations to Second Harvest, cards to those who are fighting cancer and elderly people, and bell ringing for Salvation Army.
When she wasn’t volunteering, Patti loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always a “social butterfly” and made everyone feel special with one of her hugs.
Patti also enjoyed arts and crafts, watching television, playing with her cats, eating out, and shopping. She loved watching some of the older sitcoms and if you ever wondered what actors starred on which shows, she was the one to ask. Some of her favorite shows included: Different Strokes, the original Batman, the original Incredible Hulk, Emergency, Good Times, Little House on the Prairie, etc. as you can tell, she loved all kinds of things.
If there is one thing Patti would like to be remembered for was her love…she loved everyone, she loved life, and she loved the Lord.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00PM at Lafayette Presbyterian Church,
4220 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, Fl 32308. Reception to follow in Fellowship Hall.
The family requests donations to Killearn Kiwanis for Aktion Club, 6795 Quail Valley Road, Tallahassee, FL 32309 or Lafayette Presbyterian Church.
