Patrice Anne Mongillo Riley 's Obituary
Patrice Anne Mongillo Riley, 65, passed away unexpectedly at her Tallahassee, FL home on November 16, 2016. Patti was born in Wilmington, DE on October 21, 1951. She graduated from Satellite High in 1969 and from Florida State University in 1973. She later earned two other degrees from Florida State. Patti loved the Florida State community and spent her later years close enough to hear 'Noles sports and band events from her home.
Patti retired from FDLE, Florida's Department of Law Enforcement in 2008, completing 35 years as an information analyst and state-wide trainer. After retirement, Patti enjoyed volunteering in different community service projects.
Patti had a deep passion for learning, a vicarious love of reading, and a clever wit. She was a lifetime contributor to social causes benefiting education programs for Native Americans. But most of all, she loved rescuing Keeshounds and giving them a forever home.
Patti is predeceased by her parents Pat and Anne Mongillo and her beloved aunt, Rose Stopyra. Patti leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Karen Mongillo Campbell (Larry Kennedy) and a brother, Bruce Mongillo, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
A celebration of Patti's life will be held on January 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Jacksonville, FL. This is a informal event. Please dress casually. For more information, contact the family at [email protected].
