Nina Marie Diamond's Obituary
Nina passed away on April 21, 2024 in Tallahassee, Florida. Her constant furry companion, Shadow, also passed away recently.
Nina grew up in Tallahassee and was a homemaker. Her joy in life was doing for others, particularly babysitting little children whose parents were struggling to meet their needs. Although living on a very limited income throughout her life, she was often found shopping at discount grocery stores, buying essential baby items without any expectation or reward - for she received great joy in providing for less fortunate little ones. She loved the Lord and this was her way of ministering to others.
Nina was an exceptional seamstress. It was a family tradition for her to make beautiful receiving blankets for her friends and family when new infants were welcomed into the family. She also had a green thumb and loved working with plants and flowers. Her favorite hobby was reading.
Nina is predeceased by her parents T. J. and Ethel McAplin, her husband Michael and her oldest brother Ray D. McDonald, Jr. She is survived by her five sons; Kent Grantham, Kenneth (Klaudia) Grantham, Jeffrey (Judy) Grantham, Jason (Shannon) Grantham and Benjamin Diamond; her siblings Patsy Stokes, Joy Brady (Richard) and T. R. (Buddy) (Judy) McDonald. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a private service held at a later date.
