Nancy Roney's Obituary
Nancy Roney, 73, passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2021. She was surrounded by family and friends when she lost her battle to lung cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Marie Peterson and son, Jason Roney. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Roney (Krystle) and granddaughter Kenzie Roney of Tallahassee, Florida.
Nancy was born and grew up in Long Island, New York. She moved to the south and settled in Gulf Breeze, Florida in the early ‘70s. Here she developed a love for the beach and photography.
In 2016, she moved to Tallahassee from Gulf Breeze. The highlight of her time in Tallahassee, besides being best Grammy to Kenzie, was spent volunteering at Polos Refuge.
The family would like to thank Big Bend Hospice, along with Dr. Nair and his staff, for all the wonderful care and support provided to Nancy during her illness.
A private Celebration of life will be held in the near future.
