Michael Edward Hinton's Obituary
Michael Edward Hinton died peacefully at home early on January 29, 2023. Mike was born on April 28, 1963 in Miami, Florida. He is predeceased by his father, Edward Leonard Hinton and is survived by his mother, Rowe Ellen Rogero and step-father Herb Rogero. He leaves behind a sister, Cathy Hinton Schnars, and a brother, Cayce Hampton Hinton (Tina) and five nieces and nephews. In addition to his siblings, Mike leaves behind his aunt Judy Hatfield (Rob) in Coral Gables, Florida and his uncle Charles Eikenberry (Beverly) in West Fork, Arkansas. The family had a reunion in July at his cousin’s lake house in Georgia and there were 20 family members present.
Mike worked at printing companies his whole working career and knew that business very well. In his spare time he took care of his beloved cats, maintained the grounds around his town house, as well as his mother’s. He also fixed computers for his family and friends, collected music and movie DVDs, monitored police calls on his computer, and played golf. He was self-taught on electronics and could figure out the workings of any radio or TV and do the necessary repairs to keep things operating. Mike was an introvert who wasn’t comfortable in large gatherings, but anyone who got into a close conversation with him grew to love him. He was smart and sweet and funny, and knowledgeable about a wide range of topics. He definitely marched to the beat of his own drum.
A memorial service is planned for 3 pm on Saturday, February 11, at Four Oaks Community Church, 4500 West Shannon Lakes Drive at the Kerry Forest roundabout.
