Melanie Tudor's Obituary
Melanie Ann Tudor, 72, of Tallahassee, passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mitch Hall.
Melanie was rightfully born a "Bulldog" in Athens, Georgia to which she would later return and graduate from the University of Georgia. She spent her childhood all over the world as her father served as a Command Sgt. Major, in the U.S. Army. She settled in Tallahassee in 1992 and obtained her Masters of Social Work from FSU. She was a member of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Tallahassee.
Melanie was best known in the Tallahassee community for selflessly serving as a victim advocate for the Tallahassee Police Department for 23 years. She also served on the Big Bend Victim Assistant Coalition and the Domestic Violence Coordinating Committee. She remained active in advocating for domestic abuse after her retirement.
Other survivors include five children, Amy Hall (Michael) of Tallahassee, Chad Tillman of Carrabelle, Jason Hall of Cape Coral, Steven Hall (Kiera) of St. Petersburg, and Joshua Tudor of Tallahassee; three grandchildren, Emily Yaney (Josh), Hannah Strickland (Raleigh), and Zackery Jordan; three great grandchildren, Audree Yaney, Fisher Yaney and Dawson Strickland; her "adopted" sister, Paula Ramey; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Boots & Patty Tudor.
A celebration of life is planned for a later date. Tholley Taylor with Lifesong (lifesongfunerals.com or 850/765-3190) is assisting the family with arrangements.
