Mary Lou Melder 's Obituary
Mary Lou Plant Melder went to be with her Lord and Savior June 11, 2017.
Mary Lou was born in Elba, Alabama on October 31, 1930. She was the 1949 Troy University Homecoming Queen and a graduate of that university. Mary Lou married the love of her life Prentiss Melder December 26, 1950 and soon after the young couple moved to Panama City, Florida to continue careers in education. Mary Lou will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and outstanding Bay County Schools educator.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Ann) and Mark (Stephanie), granddaughters Linsey (Thomas) Oberman, Lesley (Mitch) Harrison, Elizabeth (Matt) Albrizio and Jennifer Kline. She is also survived by 4 great-grand children: Audrey, Meredith, Hadley and Hudson.
A family service will be held in Elba, Alabama at a later date. Those desiring to do so may make a memorial contribution in Mary Lou’s name to: Lighthouse Children’s Home, 7771 Mahan Dr. Tallahassee, Fl 32309.
