Mary Claire Johnson's Obituary
Mary Claire Johnson, 84, of Tallahassee, passed away on July 20, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles Johnson.
Mary was born in Tallahassee and was a 1961 graduate of Florida State University. She met her husband while at FSU, and his career as a civilian Education Services Officer with the Dept. of Defense allowed them the opportunity to spend several enjoyable years in California and Germany, where they made many memories exploring the Swiss, Austrian and Bavarian Alps. They returned to Tallahassee where Mary joined the team of United Faculty of Florida where she proudly worked for ten years, until her retirement. Mary was a lifelong lover of cats, and the affection was mutual.
Other survivors include two cousins, Rodney Kittrell and Marian Kemp. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Bolles.
At her request, no formal services will be held.
