Mary Elizabeth Hood's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Hood, 66, entered her Heavenly body on May 11, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 25, 1959, in Bainbridge, Georgia to parents Larry and Jeanette Sirmons.
She retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years of service as a rural letter carrier in Gadsden County. She was an exceptionally talented pianist, and she loved sharing her talents. She played many Sundays at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church and New Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, and she enjoyed teaching anyone that also had a passion for music. She loved to garden, bream fish, and prune her flowers, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Freddie Lamar Hood, her children, Anthony (Jessica), Sterling (Karen), and Ashley; 4 grandchildren, Angel, Alaina, Brantley, and Tanner; 4 great grandchildren, Easton, Charlie, Chayson, and Waylon; and a host of extended family that adored her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 10:00 am at the home she loved so much.
