Mary Ann Chlopan 's Obituary
Mary Ann (Finan) Chlopan, 64, died on October 9, 2017 at her home in Tallahassee after a long battle with breast cancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, T. Patrick and Dolores M. (Mattingly) Finan, and her two children, Jeffrey Baines Chlopan and Julie Ann Chlopan. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bruce Edward Chlopan and six siblings, Michael (Susan), Thomas (Karen), Timothy (Linda), Cathy Moran (Rich), Brian (Angela) and Colleen Finan. Mary Ann also enjoyed her 14 nieces/nephews and four great nieces/nephews.
Mary Ann was born October 3, 1953 in Marion,Ohio. She received her BS in Dietetics at Michigan State University in 1976. Mary Ann and Bruce were married on March 27, 1976 in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan and eventually settled in Tallahassee, Florida in 1978. Mary Ann worked as a dietitian with developmentally disabled residents in the Rose Haven unit of Southwestern Georgia State Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia for 31 years until her retirement in 2011.
An open house celebration of life in honor of Mary Ann is being planned for family and friends at their home in Tallahassee. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
