Mary L. Byrd, 85, of Newark NJ was called home on Wednesday, October 26th, 2016 at 7:45 am surrounded by her family. She was born on October 28th, 1930 in Havana FL.
Mary worked in Little Falls Factory in Little falls NJ as a seamstress for over 25 years. Mary lived in NJ with her grandchildren and daughter in law for most of her life and moved to Tallahassee FL 2 years ago to be with her daughter and son in law. She was a member of Greater Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello, Florida.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Willie Byrd; son, Glen Byrd(Pat); sister , Earlene Harris; Brothers, Floyd Dupoint, Fred Dupoint and Mannie Dupoint.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Cassandra Hayes(Charles) of Tallahassee Florida; 1 daughter in law, Pat Bryd; 1 brother, Ralph Dupoint; 2 sisters, Almorris Mack, Robbie Ann Mack; 6 grandchildren, Benita Byrd, Sakheenia Baker, Glen Byrd Jr., Cherie Taylor, Corey Hayes, Naimah Byrd; 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
