Martha Walden Forsman's Obituary
Martha Walden Forsman went to be home with her Lord, Jesus Christ at 8:30 am on April 28, 2016. It was a peaceful passing. While her husband, John Carl Forsman, was helping her move to her chair she simply bowed her head and was gone.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, John Carl Forsman; her brother AB Walden (spouse Angela); her four children, Janis Sita (spouse John), Victor Forsman (spouse Margaret), Richard Forsman (spouse Nina) and Katrina Forsman and her five grandchildren Lane Forsman, Heather Forsman Simmons (spouse Russell), Will Forsman, Nicole Smith and Michael Smith.
Martha was a longtime resident of Grady County, GA where she grew up in Whigham. She and John met at Norman College outside of Moultrie, GA in December 1955. The first time he ever saw her on campus he told one of his friends that he was going to marry her. Nine months after they meet they were married at Providence Baptist Church on August 5, 1956.
After they were married they started their life of service to God together. Over the next sixty years she would be a help mate to John in his ministry. She filled their home with love and had a way to make no matter where they were now living home. Over the years she held various jobs outside the home such as substitute teacher, secretary, and others. She ended her working career as a statistician with the State of Florida working with OSHA.
She spent her 80 years on earth as a dedicated pastor’s wife. Everyone who knew her tells the same story of how sweet and generous she was. She has been described by those who knew her as a “Beautiful Women of God.” Martha will be missed by all who knew her. Jeremiah 29:11 NCV “I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you, I will give you hope and a good future.”
A memorial service is planned for 2pm, Sunday, May 1st at Greensboro First Baptist Church.
