Martha Elaine Blackburn's Obituary
Martha Elaine Blackburn, 81, of Quincy, passed away November 22nd, 2025, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood Blackburn in 2021.
Martha Blackburn, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love for the people around her.
Martha was the devoted wife of Lynwood Blackburn and the cherished mother of Vernon Blackburn and Stacy Blackburn, roles she embraced with a full and joyful heart. A passionate Baptist, Martha spent her life sharing the importance of committing oneself to God. Her faith was the foundation of her days, guiding her words, her actions, and her boundless compassion for others.
Known for her ability to make everyone feel valued and cared for, Martha had a gift for connecting with people. One of her greatest love languages was written communication—thoughtful cards and notes celebrating life’s important moments, offering encouragement, sharing her holiday cheer, or simply wishing someone well. Her words carried warmth, wisdom, and love, and they remain treasured keepsakes for many.
For years, Martha found fulfillment in her career with AVON, where her enthusiasm and genuine care built lasting relationships. When she could no longer spend time fishing or continue her AVON work, she discovered new joy in bird watching. She delighted in the wildlife around her home, finding peace and wonder in the simple beauty of each feathered visitor.
Martha’s life was defined by service, love, and a heart that always leaned toward helping others. She will be remembered as a steady light—gentle, giving, and grounded in her faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy endures in the lives she touched, the kindness she sowed, and the love she freely gave.
May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the glory of the God she faithfully served.
Martha's Celebration of Life will be held on December 6th, 2025, at 11am EST. The location is one of her favorite places to be - Antioch Baptist Church, 284 McCall Bridge Road Quincy, FL.
It is her wish to not receive arrangements but to have the money donated in memory of her to Antioch Baptist Church "new building fund".
