Marshall Youngblood Lee's Obituary
Marshall Youngblood Lee, 87, of Sawdust, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 9, 2025, in Tallahassee.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her first granddaughter Kristin, lovingly named her “Ganma.”
Born to John and Margaret McClure Youngblood on May 19, 1937, in Tarboro, North Carolina, Marhsall met the love of her life, Bob Lee, at a young age and they married in 1952. Their love story continued as they moved to West Palm Beach, seven years later. Bob was an educator and Marshall was a homemaker. They moved to Tallahassee in 1967, where Marshall and Bob began to raise horses and later cattle. They expanded their Polled Hereford herd and moved to Gadsden County in 1978. The little Presbyterian Church across the street from the farm was instrumental in their decision to move and establish Youngblood Farms.
Marshall served as an elder of the Woodland Presbyterian Church for many years, was President of the Woodland Women of the Church, and enjoyed teaching Sunday School.
In 1988, Marshall became a full-time caregiver to her newborn grandson, Lee. Georgia, Trey and Jonathan would soon join and for nine years, Ganma kept her grandchildren. Loading three kids up to attend a Jazzercise class was nothing to her. Three under four years old at the mall for lunch? Why not? But naps were never missed. Although the children remember watching her sleep and snore after story time. Ganma never missed a grandchild’s event. From May Day programs to Rob and the boys’ football games and other sporting events, you knew she would be there.
Family was everything to Marshall. Having her daughters and grandchildren near and even vacationing together at the beach or the North Carolina mountains has resulted in many fond and funny memories for her family to share.
Wallace Britt, her “adopted son” was her rock, sitting with her every morning and sharing stories over coffee. As her illness progressed this friendship became especially meaningful to her and the family.
Marshall is survived by her daughter Kathy Pack and her children Kristin and Dave Parker, Rob Catledge, Trey and Georgie Pack, and Jonathan Pack; her daughter Elizabeth and Gary Davis and their children Lee, Georgia and Webb Worthington; seven great-grandchildren, Luke and Chase Lambert, Blakely, Brenna Grace, and Bellamy Pack, Davis and Tripp Worthington; her sister-in-law Mary Jo Butler and her husband Virgil; her sister-in-law, Kaye Lee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Peggy Rodgers Leggett.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 5:00 PM, at Woodland Presbyterian Church, across the street from Youngblood Farms, 7560 Hosford Highway, Quincy, Florida, with visitation at 4:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.
Memorial gifts in Marshall’s honor may be made to the charity of your choice.
