Dr. Mark Gregory Bollone's Obituary
Dr. Mark Bollone was born on September 23, 1953 to Mario and Clare Bollone of Norway, Michigan. He passed away on March 23, 2023 surrounded by family and friends after a brave battle with congestive heart failure.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Michigan University and Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Notre Dame. He taught college biology for over thirty years.
He was an active volunteer in his children’s schools, receiving the Volunteer of the Year for his work as the PTO president at Buck Lake Elementary. He was voted to serve on the School Advisory Council and the District Advisory Council for many years. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and cheered for the Irish through good seasons and bad. He will be remembered for his gourmet cooking skills, his outrageous sense of humor and his commitment to his family.
He leaves his wife of thirty-three years, Maureen O’Neil, and his children Kate Larosa (John LaRosa) and Daniel Bollone (Rachel Sharp Bollone) and three grandchildren John Riley, Bennett LaRosa and Lewis Bollone.
He was preceded in death by his brother Doug Bollone and his sister Carole Langsford and is survived by his sister-in-law Mary Bollone.
A private family service is being held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Cardiac Unit.
