Marjorie McClure Brenner's Obituary
Marjorie McClure Brenner, January 15, 1920 – September 8, 2022. Marjorie was born in
Litchfield, MN, but moved when she was 3 years old to St. Petersburg, Florida, where she grew up. She is a 1941 honors graduate of Florida State College for Women, now FSU, and has also lived in Ft. Myers and most recently Tallahassee. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses:
Leslie Stephens (Geoff) of Cary, NC, Skip Hood (Patty) of Tallahassee, and
Charlie Hood (Mary “Della” Betz) of Tallahassee, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Marjorie's family and friends remember her as supremely cheerful, kind and gracious. She was a
lady who filled her 102 years with so many interests, adventures, and achievements. Her interests included water skiing – teaching and performing – competitive ballroom dancing and home design,
both of which led to successful careers for her, adventure travel, and environmental preservation.
She was named a Silver Star by the Tallahassee Senior Center in 2004 as a role model for successful aging.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial
contributions may be made in her name to the Tallahassee Senior Center.
