Marilyn Lorraine Webster Basford's Obituary
Marilyn Basford, 74 of Tallahassee Florida passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024 at the Margaret Dozier Big Bend Hospice House after a long battle, she fought hard, with ALS. Marilyn was born in Jacksonville, Florida and grew up in Marietta, Florida. Marilyn was the daughter of William Emory Webster and Lorraine Tidwell Webster.
Marilyn was a Para Professional that began her 35 year career at Chattahoochee Elementary School and continued working in the Gadsden County School System throughout and retired in 2022 while working at Havana Magnet School. She was non-instructional employee of the year twice throughout her career. Marilyn was a go getter, dedicated to the children she worked with, kind, and a caring mother and grandmother.
Marilyn is survived by her sister Grace Rhoden (Bobby) of Maccleny, Florida and two nieces Cheryl Bunting (Todd), and Wanda Rowe. She is survived by her daughter Tina Basford, son Michael Basford, and beloved grandson Cole Basford. Marilyn is preceded in death by her brothers Richard and Gerald Webster. Marilyn is also survived by special friends Frank Beck, and Peggy Tucker.
