Marcia Johnson's Obituary
Marcia Lou Johnson, 71, animal lover and longtime Burbank resident, died peacefully on December 11, 2016 in Tallahassee, Florida from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in the San Fernando Valley on May 1, 1945, she was an original Valley Girl. Marcia worked as a Senior Clerk for the North Hollywood Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, beginning in the 1970’s and retiring after 30 years of service. Marcia was well known for helping those in need. Marcia especially loved animals, fostering many stray cats and dogs, in addition to the occasional goat and duck. She was also an avid movie watcher and took great pride in her volunteer work at the Los Angeles Zoo and Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Burbank.
Marcia was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Gail Reiter, and is survived by her nieces and nephews, Amy Reiter of Florida, Brady Reiter of Georgia, Cambria Reiter-Russell of Hawaii, and Carly Reiter of Washington.
A private service will be held in Marcia’s memory at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA. Lifesong (850-627-1111) is assisting the family with arrangements.
