Lynn S. Edel's Obituary
Lynn Edel, 73, passed away on October 6, 2024, at HCA Hospital in Tallahassee Florida. She was born on March 16, 1951, to John and Catherine Simpkins in Lebanon Ohio. Lynn graduated from Lebanon High School in 1969 and went on to briefly attend Miami University in Ohio before moving to Panama City Florida to study at Gulf Coast Community College. She completed her studies at Florida State University with a degree in Art History in 1973.
While attending FSU Lynn met her husband, Gregory Edel, and they were married in 1976.
Post graduation Lynn worked as a sales representative for Georgia Pacific and as an art supplies distributor for Brown & Bigelow. Lynn and Greg were successful entrepreneurs, starting both a cleaning business and a computer repair store. They briefly left Tallahassee for St Petersburg FL until 1985 when their first daughter Julia was born. Upon returning to Tallahassee Lynn and Greg continued to grow their family with the addition of their second daughter Kathryn. While raising their daughters Lynn owned and operated Danube Blue Boarding Kennels for two decades.
Lynn found joy in art, animals, and astronomy. Throughout her life she rescued countless animals in need including baby squirrels, opossums, and stray dogs. A favorite pastime of hers was to find a secluded spot to enjoy meteor showers away from city lights.

She is survived by her fur baby Bucey, and 7 fur grandbabies, Stella, Wookie, Dominic Toretto, Burrito Banderas, Bansheey, Beyowulf, and Breezey.
Lynn was an incredible mother, wife, and friend and will be missed every day.
She will be seen again at the rainbow bridge.
