Ludell "Lou" Vickers' Obituary
Ludell “Lou” M. Vickers, 87, of Quincy, passed away on Friday, April 22cd, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Tallahassee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tyrus “Ty” R. Vickers in 2010.
Ludell grew up in Willacoochee, GA and lived in Quincy since 1962. She was a member of Santa Clara Baptist Church in Quincy for many years and was active in the church choir and Vacation Bible School. She was intimately involved with the community through her last employment with Gretna Elementary School. She loved canning and cooking.
Survivors include three children, Kenneth Raymond Vickers (Gwen) of Fayetteville, GA; Joe B. “Joby” Vickers (Angy) of Tallahassee; and Linda Vickers Barton (Dave) of Tallahassee; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, April 25th at Santa Clara Baptist Church in Quincy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Willacoochee, GA. Lifesong Funerals & Cremations (850.627.1111 or www.lifesongfunerals.com) is assisting the family with arrangements.
