Lowell Veach's Obituary
Lieutenant Lowell Nafe Veach, of Tallahassee, passed away on December 5, 2016 at Westminster Oaks.
He served nobly and unselfishly in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea. Among his many honors, he received two stars and a victory medal. He chose law as his life-work, retiring from the Florida State Public Defender's office a few years ago. His life partner was Martha who passed a few years before him.
His life-love was Christian Science which he studied and practiced wholeheartedly. At a recent testimony meeting, members of the local branch Church of Christ, Scientist expressed their gratitude for having known Lowell; Remembering his quick wit, twinkle in his eye, determination to attend church services, intelligence and dedication to many areas of church work. The Psalmist wrote, "Mark the perfect man and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace." Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science wrote, "...life is not lost: its influence remains in the minds of men, and divine Love holds its substance safe in the certainty of immortality." (My. 295:3) Peace and immortality are the rewards of a life lived as he lived.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, December 16th at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Lifesong (850.627.1111) is assisting the family with arrangements.
